ECHO KarlTzy reveals secret of Mobile Legends M4 win: 'We treat every game like a bo1'

Having triumphed over their rivals Blacklist International at the Mobile Legends (MLBB) M4 World Championship, ECHO's Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno is still shocked at being the first two-time world champion.

The ECHO jungler told Yahoo Esports SEA that he was "really happy", following the team's triumph in Jakarta on Sunday (15 January).

His team swept Blacklist International 4-0 in dominant fashion, even surprise-picking heroes such as Gusion and Lunox, which were previously either not picked or rarely used in the tournament.

But it was how they played that left their opponents with no way to comeback.

"We always think that the game is always best-of-one every match," said KarlTzy.

"Also, their heroes are not that great and not in the meta right now. That's why they were having a hard time."

But whether they can repeat their performance at next season's MPL PH though, is something that KarlTzy isn't sure of yet.

"I think it depends if my teammates are still hungry," he said. He also admitted that if there's someone that would not be hungry, it would be him.

After all, KarlTzy first became a world champion back in the M2 World Championship in 2021 with Bren Esports.

As the first-ever MLBB pro to be a two-time world champion, KarlTzy's resume is unmatched, and will likely remain so for the foreseeable future.

Lastly, while Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales took home the Finals MVP prize, KarlTzy said he thought Sanford "Sanford" Vinuya was more deserving of the title, though Bennyqt was the one who had improved the most throughout the tournament.

"It was Benny who improved the most, and I think he did a lot for us."

The M4 World Championship was held in Jakarta, Indonesia from 1 to 15 January, and featured 16 of the best MLBB teams in the world competing to claim the world championship title as well as the lion's share of the US$800,000 prize pool.

The M4 Knockout Stage was held from 7 to 15 January in the Tennis Indoor Stadium Senayan.
